Kinja'd!!!

The price per 2 weeks is perfect, all I need is insurance. I talked to the car seller and he told me to try this.
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
They offered me that I pay them 84$ per month and pay 1.9 cent the km. The tickets that I currently have (including 2 Very high speed tickets that stay in your record for 10 years) are all forgotten. The bad part is that they install a telemetry system to monitor your driving and when you go bad it goes up fast. They check harsh accelerations, hard stops, speeding etc. You get to pay 10$/min more when you run 160 kmh in a 100 kmh zone. Where I win, is when I put the car in the garage for the winter. I'll only pay 84 per month where a normal insurance will be more than double for me. What do you think about that Oppo?

Were they points on your licence? I'd go for the cheaper insurance over the double insurance. A monitoring system could prevent a third high speed ticket.

Double but you can actually drive without the stress of that device. But I guess it's better then not driving at all.

I have trouble having a little fun, I live in the only state in the United States where radar detectors are illegal, also if you can afford the double then go for it, rather than having one of those house arrest things on your car.

What about Autocross/track days (bro?)

I thought of this too...and I realised that I never got to the icar circuit like I wanted to. I don't feel like going to a track day for the moment...Autocross is not for me. I need an opponent to chase!

See how long it would take in Kms and hard starts and stops to equal or exceed the other insurance company. I bet you it won't take long. Plus really, do you want to neuter your new car by having a nanny on it that is actively trying to cost you more money? Get a radar detector, and if you do speed, only do it with the top down when you can maintain full spatial awareness. . .

If you wanna get that monitoring thing, then you might as well get a Corolla.

You are not in the US, which is what I would base my comparison on. I am fundamentally opposed to monitoring my driving habits. Tough call. How old are you?

Just turned 26. Last time I checked for the price for an NC I had 25 and way more tickets.

Holy crap that's expensive... My car costs me 1000$ per year in insurance and it can go "pretty fast"... daily driven RWD sports cars with 5.7l engines in them should cost more to insure than miatas. I have full coverage by the way. Even the second quote is expensive... That's about 1000$ and let's day you drive 20000km per year, you end up paying 1400$. Not counting the possible"fines" from your insurance.

Granted I never got a ticket in my entire life (going to racetracks really helps me getting over my need for speed :) ), but still...

I'm in Montreal with Aviva. Maybe you should try. If I recall correctly, you are in Quebec too. Close to 2000$ per year for a 15k$ car is way too much

Aviva wont insure me. RBC got a quote of 2130$ which is doable for me.

Arch... that's tough... Those speeding tickets must have been something lol. If i were you I would go with the insurance without the spying thing, eventhough it's more expensive. 700$ difference to fully enjoy a 15k$ car with no worries is not that much when you think of it.

Also try an insurance broker, they might be able to help you and find you a better deal. It worked for me after trying to reinsure myself eventhough my car was not insured for 6 months (I was out of the country duh!). Nobody wanted to insure me, unless I paid an enormous amount. Went through a broker and he found me a decent deal.

I did....it's because my license got suspended for 3 months in 2011. I only have one ticket in my record right now.

That's quite better indeed. Still expensive but at least you don't have to deal with these ridiculously expensive insurances.

I did some search and I found interesting prices. 1312$/yr. But they need to see my driving record first.
